On the afternoon of the 18th, Kisoo Park, Team Leader at Mimetics (pictured right), received the Startup Category Grand Prize at the 8th 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) Awards 2024, hosted by Money Today at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. He posed for a commemorative photo with Jinsang Hyun, Executive Director at Money Today.
Founded as a student startup at Sungkyunkwan University, Mimetics is advancing research and business based on biomimetic technology inspired by nature. Drawing inspiration from the suction cup structure of octopus tentacles, the company developed a negative-pressure wearable patch for transdermal drug delivery. In collaboration with cosmetic brands, the product is scheduled for its first launch at Olive Young in the first half of 2025.
