MIMETICS (CEO Hyung-ki Park) announced on the 19th that it is participating in the ‘ILS 2023’ (Innovation Leaders Summit 2023) held in Tokyo, Japan, marking the company’s active push into the Asian market.
MIMETICS is a promising startup providing skincare and medical solutions using biomimetic technology, and currently holds over 30 patents domestically and internationally.
At the event, MIMETICS is conducting IR (Investor Relations) sessions targeting 28 countries worldwide through an overseas open innovation matching program. The company is also exploring new business opportunities by connecting with global luxury and beauty companies such as Dior and Shiseido.
ILS is the largest open innovation conference in Asia, launched to promote collaboration between major corporations and startups and to foster global innovation. Through this platform, MIMETICS aims to explore diverse collaboration opportunities and expand its presence in the global market, while strengthening its influence in the industry ecosystem through networking with participating companies and technology experts.
MIMETICS holds over 30 patents worldwide and recently completed four technology transfers from Sungkyunkwan University, securing over five years of research data. This collaboration with Professor Chang-hyun Bang and his research team underscores the company’s technological capabilities and competitive edge, further enhancing MIMETICS’ R&D strength.
A company representative stated, “Starting in December 2023, MIMETICS will begin angel investment to increase the scalability and flexibility of existing drug delivery systems (DDS). Through symbiotic models with established cosmetic and pharmaceutical companies, we plan to innovatively address challenges in skin penetration, absorption, stability, and efficacy faced by traditional beauty brands. This strategy aims to create new value in the industry through MIMETICS’ technology and business collaborations while securing strong competitiveness in the global market.”
